The PK25 Lounge Chair, also known as the "Element" chair, represents Poul Kjærholm’s uncompromising approach to material reduction. Created for his graduation project, the design is defined by a single, continuous piece of matte chromed spring steel that loops to form the frame without visible joints or connections. The seat and back are woven from a single length of flag halyard, stretched under high tension to provide ergonomic support while maintaining the chair's transparent, skeletal profile. By stripping furniture design down to its absolute essentials, this piece highlights the raw strength and flexibility of industrial materials.
